Wolfpaw stared with great round eyes of interest and intrigue and Duskwind tried to answer his questions. Wolfpaw shook his head at what he guess was a compliment, "Ha, I am no Starclan Warrior" He mewed, "Probably will not be going there" He thought to himself.Wolfpaw raised his eyebrow,"Yes, that is true. We have many a prey, but.....what happens when we run out? What if a certain power hungry clan decides to attack right when we run out if prey, What happens then?" He meowed, questioningly.
"I know that who or where you were born to is not your fault, but it was the cats parent's fault. And what better punishment than killing the wretched abomination that they brought into this world? He asked genuinely interested. "Okay" He shrugged, "What moves shall I be learning? Oh, Can me and you have a practice fight, claws sheathed of course, so if I mess up you know exactly what to train me in?" He meowed.
Without even waiting for an answer Wolfpaw jumped back, and raised his hackles. He started walking in half circle, only pausing to let his mentor start circling as well. "Well, let us begin" He growled, as he lunged forward and fake swung his paw at Duskwind, while not waiting for a reaction he drew it back in and slid underneath Duskwind, scrabbling his belly. "Haha, Got you" He mewed to himself.

[Blarg. Srry for the late reply xO] Great Starclan, did this tom's questions ever end?! Duskwind blinked to conceal his thoughts. To be honest, he was a little over-whelmed. He knew apprentices were curious and that was all good fun. He could trick the gullible ones into thinking that, if they caught every rain drop in a storm, their clan would win the next battle. But not only was Wolfpaw eager to learn, he was almost smart, which meant Duskwind wouldn't be able to trick him easily. But really! Where did he come up with all these inquiries? The deputy felt like he was being interrogated, but he merely shook off how baffled he felt. Still, what worried him was how Wolfpaw was able to justify to himself that killing was ok. Killing was never alright. Life wasn't something they had control of. "That's not-"
He meowed in an attempt to adjust the tom's opinion, but suddenly the apprentice was.... Challenging him?! Instantly forgetting his former anxiety, Windy grinned like a love-sick puppy and flicked one ear. "Oh? A little rally wouldn't hurt." To be honest, Duskwind was more of a fighter than a hunter. Moons of hard life underaged on his own had taught him everything he needed to know about self-defense. He'd never lost a battle before. Well, once back when Delighla and Moon had pounced on him simultaneously, but the few who had seen him fight before knew that the tom wasn't brought down easily. As an adult, he'd only lost his balance in battle once in a fight with a badger, but now this was bound to be interesting. The tom had just enough time to put up his guard as Wolfpaw sprang forward unexpectedly.
The little tom was fast, Duskwind would give him that. And as Wolfpaw struck forward with one paw, Duskwind backed up only for it to prove as a fake. It was a good thing the sunny tabby was as agile and swift as he was. He was clumsy outside of battle, but his reflexes were sharp even if his emotional reactions were often delayed by several oblivious seasons. The tom could be a little slow when it came to being aware of certain feelings, but his physical characteristics were quite different. Emerald eyes catching sight of Wolfpaw just as the tom dove for a strike at his stomach, Duskwind flipped all his weight onto one side as he side stepped, swatting lightly with sheathed paws at his apprentice's back as he passed.
"You'll have to be quicker than that. And don't forget I can always sit on you when you're under me. I am bigger after all." Purring in amusement as he poked fun at the tom, forest eyes were light and spirited. It was in battle like this that he could most enjoy himself. In combat, he was light, weightless, and no chains bound him to the ground. There was no past or future in battle; just, now.

Wolfpaw grinned slyly when he thought he had gotten the best of Duskwind, but just then his mentor sat on him. He let out a grunt of anger, "Argh!" Wolfpaw ignored his mentor's advice and comments, and he immediately began to kick with his hind legs and flail at his mentor with his front paws. Wolfpaw closed his eyes and imagined like he was in his dream like before Duskwind has woke him up, He imagined fighting a rival clan. "Blazeclan" He thought to himself, and he imagined seeing a rival apprentice challenging him, he tensed his muscles and jumped at him with claws unsheathed. Wolfpaw had bitten the dream apprentice in the neck and blood poured from the wound, and his body went limp. Wolfpaw smiled and turned over the dead cat's body, to see that it was only a kit. A poor, helpless, defenseless kit. Wolfpaw heard voice, "You're a disgrace!" "You'll never become a warrior!" Taunted the voice. "Shut up! Shut Up!" Snarled Wolfpaw as he randomly swung his unsheathed claws at them, he awoke to find that his claws in real life were unsheathed and clawing at his mentor. He gasped in terror, "Oh no!" He thought.

[Rofl xD Wolfpaw cracks me up.] Tilting his head to the side, the tom stared curiously down at his struggling apprentice. At the moment, Wolfpaw strongly resembled some sort of snake. He was squirming so much that, if the tom hadn't known better, he could've mistaken the apprentice for some small earthquake. And yet, Duskwind furrowed his expression curiously as Wolfpaw's eyes suddenly grew distant, as if he were thinking hard. Some new strategy? Oh well; I'll be prepared. The tom tensed, waiting for some clever move from the tom. And then, the last thing he had expected happened. To be honest, he hadn't even put it on his list of 'possible battle moves for Wolfpaw to utilize'. He hadn't even considered that Wolfpaw might break the rules, when suddenly long thorns were cutting into his shoulder fur. Startled, the tom stumbled backwards, wincing as the apprentice's claws grazed the tip of his ear. He was barely able to avoid a swipe at his eyes before he swatted at the tom's head with one forepaw. It wasn't a heavy blow, but it was strong enough to keep the cat from mauling him.
"Wolfpaw, what's gotten into you?" He meowed, though his voice held concern rather than anger. Sure, the place where Wolfpaw's talons had sliced through the fine fur on his shoulder was gradually dampening with blood, but something told him that the tom hadn't meant any harm. After all, Wolfpaw had said he had no reason to hurt someone who wasn't half-clan. Duskwind might've been raised as a loner, but his blood was directly from the clans. If Wolfpaw had really wanted to hurt him, was it out of frustration? Probably not. Duskwind's guess was that it was an accident or pure instinct, and yet he couldn't quite grasp how the apprentice had managed to change attitudes so quickly.
