Characters Name:
Fadingjade

FrostClan
Gender:
Female
Age
27 Moons
Rank:
Medicine Cat
Family/Mate:
No one
Appearance:
Pelt
Fadingjade has a very beautiful pelt: It's a light, almost white yet sort of dirty looking, Bengal with a white muzzle and paws. Her fur is very fluffy, and she's long-haired. This is sometimes an annoying thing to have during Greenleaf, for it gets very, very hot. But during Leafbare, it's an advantage, because she gets to resume her work like every other normal day, when others are freezing cold.
Eyes
She has the most beautiful Jade-green eyes you could ever see. Like any other cat who wishes they were special, her eyes change color every now and then. It's just a genetic thing. Not a super power or ability that she can do when she wants to. It just happens, and at the most odd moments. When her eyes change from that deep, dark Jade-green color, they turn into a pale yellow, sometimes freckled with light brown. Her eyes sparkle, and they are unusually large on her small frame.
Build
Fadingjade has the build of the usual Medicine Cat of the Clan. She's very small, and very wiry, but she's got the heart of a full-blown Warrior of TigerClan. With all her might, she can put the most emotion into her tone of voice, that you won't doubt her when she's testifying against someone, or willing you on. You feel a sudden warmth stir inside of you when she's talking encouragement into your soul, and you feel a stab of ice (or called the cold shoulder, as the twolegs say) when she's disappointed or angered with you. Trust me, this is not the female you will want to antagonize.
Personality:
This feline is a very loving, compassionate, and enchanting cat to be around. When she's talking to kits, you feel as if you want some of your own (whether you are male OR female). When she's scolding apprentices, but in a light tone, you know that she'd make a wonderful mentor. And when she's counseling a young warrior (or many, for that matter), you know she could have made a wonderful Leader...if she had chosen that path.
But aside from Fadingjade's warm feelings towards her Clanmates, there is a rude, brittle, brisk side that you DO NOT want to meet when you're first introduced to her, promise you that. She has such a temper when you anger or disappint her, that it makes you NOT want to anger or disappoint her. If you don't do something right, whether it's her business or not, she'll immediatly jump in, either defending your rights...or not.
Within this enraged temper is practically a tiger ready to leap out and claw you to shreds at any moment. She would have made a fine warrior, but she chose the life of a Medicine Cat, for she didn't enjoy the thought of creating spilled blood or death. True, she can handle seeing blood when she's healing her Clanmates, but she can't stand to face that she would have been the one that had dealt it, even if it was for the safety and survival of her Clan.
Strong toned as a Warrior, but gentle and swift as a Medicine Cat, this she-cat is someone you do not want to cross personalities with. Which is why it is suggested that when you first meet her, you do not try to raise a claw or raise your tone of voice from a calm introduction.
Past:
-Kitten-
When Fadingjade was a kitten (known as Fadingkit then), she didn't have a tragic life. She had a perfectly normal life, to be honest. She loved being a kitten:: Playing with her littermates, exploring the dens in the Camp, and snuggling up to her mother's side when the moon shone brilliantly in the night sky at the end of the day. Not only did she love her kittenhood, but she loved how she looked, her name. Everything about herself, she loved. She loved herself, and that's rare to find in a kitten as young as her.
-Apprentice-
When Fadingjade became an apprentice (Fadingpaw at the time), she didn't want to be a Warrior Apprentice. When she had been a kitten, she had seen enough bloodshed and battle between her fellow Clanmates that she didn't want to partake in that. So she consulted with her Leader, her mother, and the current Medicine Cat if she could have another life, seperate from that of a Warrior's. The Medicine Cat suggested for her to be her apprentice, and with a bit of coaxing on her leader's end, received it at last. She was very proud of her self for it, and trained hard.
-Medicine Cat-
When the time for her mentor, the current Medicine Cat of FrostClan, was to retire to the Elders Den, Fadingjade knew that she would become the full Medicine Cat then, and take over her mentor's duties. She was so excited! She couldn't believe that it was soon to come. Though she would be very grieved to know that her mentor would be retiring to the Elders den, she knew that she would see her often enough, and tried not to depress herself with the thought. She had already received her full Medicine Cat name (Fadingjade) when the Medicine Cat finally decided to relieve herself from her duties as medicine cat, and pass it on to Fadingjade. Fadingjade took it with great honor, and now serves her Clan the best she can, as Healer, not Fighter, of FrostClan.
Sample:
"Quit fussing, Dandelionkit, or I won't be able to put the remedy on right." a light, almost white yet dirty looking, Bengal she-cat said, her dark Jade-green eyes staring down at the kitten. Her voice was scolding, but soft not as to make the kit dislike her. Dandelionkit looked up at her with sad eyes. "But it hurts! I don't want to put it on, it'll hurt more!" she complained, fidgeting yet again. The light Bengal she-cat said and plopped down onto her bottom, still staring at Dandelionkit. "Dandelionkit, it won't heal if I don't put it on. Do you want it to still hurt?" she asked, tilting her head to the side, a wise look glinting in her eyes.
Dandelionkit shook her head, looking down at her paws. "No..." she said quietly. The light Bengal she-cat, known as Fadingjade, smiled and nodded her head in approval. "Good. Then let me put this on." she said, chewing some more of the marigold pulp up and spitting it onto Dandelionkit's shoulder before rubbing it in soothingly. Some of the already dried and scattered Marigold pulp lay strewn across the Medicine den floor. "If you hadn't of made such an act, sweetie, this would have all been over, and you would have been sleeping beside Beautystream in the Nursery." she said in a scolding tone as she continued to apply the Marigold remedy to the wound.
Dandelionkit looked up at her. "Will I be able to play again soon?" she asked, her eyes lighting up just at the idea. Fadingjade looked at her and a small purr erupted from her throat in amusement as her Jade-green eyes calmly shifted to that of a hazel brown in a milky sensation. "Of course, dear." she said, then licked the kit's head and nudged her bottom forward. "Now off you go, and make sure not to play until that shoulder wound heals up." she said, purring still. "I don't want your littermates scratching it up again!" she called as the cream and black bundle of fur bounced out of the den happily and towards the Nursery to tell her mother the good news.
Fadingjade sighed, staring after, then shook her head, chuckling and picking up the spare Marigold Pulp and replacing it in the Herb store quietly and gracefully. Trying to reason with Dandelionkit as she healed her had taken all the energy from her experienced limbs, and she sighed heavily as she lay down in her comfy moss nest. "I don't think my life could ever get better than this.." she thought to herself, as her sight slowly turned to that of darkness as sleep took her to sweet dreams and StarClan's world.
