Tigerstar meowed with pride, "It was okay,Cloverpaw. You did okay today, But I think it is time for you to go change the elders bedding and get some rest." Tigerstar had spent almost the whole day training and hunting with Cloverpaw, He needed some alone time. He stalked up to the huge tree and climbed up onto it, He had no struggle going up it. He rested on a branch and saw a bird with an injured wing sitting beside him. He easily hit the bird and it fell to the floor. Tigerstar laughed at nature. Tigerstar had an okay day, He loved training.

Cloverpaw flicked her tail impatiently as Tigerstar dismissed her and told her to clean the Elder's bedding. I thought I did pretty good! she thought, frustrated. She was about to stalk off and begin on the boring task but in the corner of her eye she saw Tigerstar start to climb up the huge tree that they were training by. She continued watching in awe as he climbed up the huge tree with ease, then carefully settling into a comfortable spot on a sturdy branch. "H-how did you do that?!" Cloverpaw meowed, loud enough for Tigerstar to hear at the high branch.

Tigerstar was surprised to hear her voice. "What did I just tell you!?! Go Clean the Elder's bedding! Now!" He growled. Then Tigerstar thought about how she was just an Apprentice, She didn't know much. "Well....It's really quite easy you see. Do...Do you want me to show you how to climb trees?" He meowed in a softer but stern and affirmative tone. He was starting to grow accustomed to Cloverpaw. But then he thought of how she disobeyed him. "But after that it's right to the Elder's den, Understand!" He snapped. She needed discipline, And he was the mentor to give it.

Cloverpaw looked down at her paws in shame as Tigerstar scolded her. I can't help it if I'm curious! she thought, tearing the grass with her claws. When Tigerstar calmed down a bit, and asked if she would like to climb trees, Cloverpaw pricked her ears up in surprise. At once, she was more alert and she listened carefully to Tigerstar. Climbing trees would be a lot more fun than going straight back to camp and cleaning out the elder's den! "Of course I'd like to learn how!" Cloverpaw meowed excitedly, impatient to start. "How high will we go? Is it hard? What if I fall?" she paused to take a breath, then gazed up at the tall tree. "It looks like you can reach Starclan from up there!"

Tigerstar admired her courage and excitement, but resented her annoyingness. "Be quiet and listen then!" He snapped. "We will learn the proper technique and go to the first branch today. It is challenging at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's alot easier." He spoke sternly and calmly. He smirked at her last question, "What if I fall?". "Well", he said staring into her eyes and then at the tree, "You must try and land on her paws, But no need to worry, It won't hurt." Tigerstar spoke with more of an edge in his voice "Look, It's almost sunset, We need to hurry up. So are you ready to learn? Or what!?" He snapped.

"Yes! I'm ready to learn!" she said excitedly, gazing up at the tall tree. A breeze blew by, and the branches shook. Cloverpaw shivered, trying to look for a sturdy branch that they could climb too. At last, she found one, it wasn't very high but it looked sturdy and strong. "There's a branch!" Cloverpaw exclaimed, pointing with her tail to the strong branch she had found. "Is that strong enough to hold a cat?" she asked, afraid of falling. "Because I'd rather not fall!" Cloverpaw usually wasn't very frightened, but the falling from the tall tree frightened her quite a bit. She had heard of stories about cats falling from trees that had either died, or broken their legs and were useless to the clan. "Can we start?" she meowed uncertainty, for once not dancing all over the place. Staclan help me! Cloverpaw said silently, gazing in up at the tree.

Tigerstar lost all admiration in her when she said she was scared of a branch. "Yes, Im sure it's sturdy. Here, I'll show you." He snapped. With that he balanced himself and stalked up to the tree. "Watch!" He snapped. He unsheathed his claws and dug them deep into the bark, he bent his hindpaws and gave a big jump. He got up on the branch with ease. "See, Easy as....." All of a sudden the branch snapped and he plummeted to the ground. He fell hard on the ground, and felt a snap in his paw. "Aghhhh!" He yowled in pain

Cloverpaw's eyes widened with shock as she ran over to Tigerstar. "Tigerstar!?" she wailed like a helpless kit. "We have no medicine cat! But...I might remember a few basic herbs that I learned a long time ago." she said, glancing around the surrounding area for the correct herbs. "The herb for a sprained paw is...marigold? No, no that's not it. Maybe yarrow? No! Yarrow is for poisons.."
I have no idea what the herb is! Cloverpaw realized sadly. What if Tigerstar loses a life because of me? This is all my fault! "Tigerstar." she said, looking down at her wounded leader. "Do you have any idea what the herb could be for a sprained paw?"

Tigerstar looked up in a haze, "Wh...What! Get away! Im okay, Im not a kit!" He snapped. But when he tried to stand he collapsed onto the ground. He gritted his teeth, the pain was excruciating. "Agh, Cloverpaw, I need you to try and help me over that rock, I need to rest and let it heal on it's own." He spoke calmly, but rigid. Tigerstar sturggled to get up again, He managed to get on his paws. He wobbled but stood strong and stern. "Cloverpaw, After you get me to the rock go into the forest and look for....Whatever herb you think is best, Okay?" He spoke with anger. "I can't be so hurt over a little sprained paw.....can i?" he thought to himself.

"Okay," Cloverpaw said, realizing how weak her leader is. He can't lose a life! she thought desperately. Just over a little sprained paw? I know he's stronger than that... Cloverpaw stood up to let Tigerstar lean on her shoulder, and she walked over to the rock where Tigerstar had said to go to. "I'm not sure I can find it." Cloverpaw mumbled, loud enough for Tigerstar to hear. "But I'll try my best! You should put your paw straight, so the bone can heal properly." That was weird, I thought I didn't know anything about healing? Cloverpaw wondered. Maybe Starclan game me a little help!
Realizing that Starclan was with her gave Cloverpaw strength, and she turned away from Tigerstar to look for the herb that could heal his sprained paw. She wandered about the forest, trying to think what herb was best, when suddenly she felt another cats presence. But not Tigerstar's. "Comfrey..." a whisper murmured in Cloverpaw's ear.
"Silvertail!" Cloverpaw meowed, searching for the familiar face of her mother. But, the comforting cat was nowhere to be seen. Cloverpaw looked around the territory, at once she spotted a huge plant with purple flowers that she knew had to be Comfrey. "Thank you Starclan!" she exclaimed, tearing off the leaves and flowers of the plant. She uncomfortably held them in her jaw, and ran aw quickly as she could back to Tigerstar.
"Tigerstar!" she meowed happily, dropping the plants in front of him. "I found the herb! Starclan helped me! I don't know how you use it though, but I think you have to use the juice of the herb and put it on your paw. Or maybe you eat it? I have no idea...try both?"

Tigerstar struggled on top of the rock, He layed down and layed the bone straight like his apprentice said. He was soaking in all the sun, He started to lick his paw while Cloverpaw was out looking for the herb to heal him. "Cloverpaw, better hurry!" He mumbled to himself in a hiss. Just then Cloverpaw came back carrying a purple flower or something. When she told him to eat it and try and put it on his wound he was a little worried that this was the wrong herb. "Are you sure this is the right herb!?!?" He snapped very defiantly. He didn't wait for an asnwer the pain was too much, He ate up the seeds quickly and then rubbed in on his wound. It burned, and tasted horrible to him. He almost spit it out but he stayed tough. After he had done both he spoke "Alright, Thank you Cloverpaw, I want to to go and practice those fighting moves in the clearing, I can see from here." He spoke in a calm, soothing voice. He wanted to see how she would do.

"Starclan told me." Cloverpaw mumbled as Tigerstar asked how she had known it was the right herb. It bothered Cloverpaw that Tigerstar doubted her. Actually, Cloverpaw doubted herself when it came to healing For some strange reason, whenever it came to healing a cat, Cloverpaw would naturally know what to do. She wouldn't know herbs names, and how to use them. But she would know how to rest if a cat has been injured, or how to treat stiffness without herbs. Maybe it was just a skill from her mother, Silvertail, who had been very good with medicine cat duties? Or Cloverpaw could just naturally be good with herbs? Whatever it was, Cloverpaw knew she wouldn't quit her warrior life. She would never want to be a medicine cat. Where was the fun in looking for herbs and healing cat's wounds?! The only interesting thing about medicine cat life was the mysterious connection with Starclan. "I'll practice the moves, but don't get up!" Cloverpaw advised her leader, walking into the clearing.
Cloverpaw practiced the tail trip move that Tigerstar had taught her. Pretending a nearby leaf was an enemy, she raced towards it, and at the exact moment she swerved, avoiding it. Then she turned around and pretended to bite it's 'tail'. A little breathless from all the running, Cloverpaw walked back up to Tigerstar and said, "was that good? It's hard pretending a leaf is an enemy, but I tried my best." Which is never good enough, it seems. Cloverpaw thought silently, the tip of her tail twitching.

Tigerstar didn't believe her when she said that Starclan had told her. "I bet you lying, tick!" He mumbled. He was shocked, he was starting to grow connected with Cloverpaw, Orw what he called connecting. He watched her do the move he had taught her. When she came back he snapped at her "You need to straighten your form and posture. You won't be hurting and Nightclan cats with those moves!" Tigerstar was very harsh on her, But it was only because he was treated harsh his whole life. It was the only way he knew how to do things, and he knew that if he was critical with Cloverpaw, that she to would make a great warrior. "Cloverpaw, You are learning. I am proud of you, But you must try harder and harder. Never stop until you're sure that you've perfected something. Don't let anyone tell you that can't do something, Not even me!" He spoke with a gentleness in his eyes. Tigerstar watched Cloverpaw twitch her tail, She was uncomfortable or something. Tigerstar paid no attention to it. "Go work somemore, You need alot more work!" He snapped. She would just have to get use to tough love.

Cloverpaw tried her best to ignore Tigerstar's comment about her lying, but she just couldn't control her temper! It was time to show Cloverpaw's bad side. "I am not lying!" she said angrily. "My mother, Silvertail came to me and told me! If it wasn't for her, you would have that sprained paw forever! And maybe you'd lose tons of lives because of it. Don't ever accuse ME of lying about this sort of thing!"
Cloverpaw stormed off, into the clearing. There she practiced the jump kick; walking lightly on her paws she leaped onto an imaginary enemy's back. Then she kicked as hard as she could with her powerful hindlegs. Turning around, she faced Tigerstar. "Is that good enough for you?" she growled.

Tigerstar was amused at his Apprentcies display. "Go hunting, Now!" He snapped ferociously "And don't come back until you've caught enough for a Clan of 30 Cats!" Tigerstar's neck fur was bristling. He had never had anyone speak to him like that, but he admired her courage. When she asked him if she did good enough, He just smirked and mewed "It wasn't bad, But not good." He spoke sarcasticly. "Needs work." He mewed through his large smirk. Tigerstar liked Cloverpaw, but not that much. "Hunt, Now!" He hissed. Tigerstar looked back down at his paw, and grunted, "It wouldn't have happend if you weren't such a kit about everything!" He growled one final time.
