Hawkkit scowered the clearing of the camp from outside the nursery. His amber eyes glowed and his heart pounded. He was a new cat. He was a clan cat. Hawkkit recalled his brother- his murdered brother. His brother killed by a bear. His brother, for whom he constantly seeked vengeance. Hawkkit's blood almost constantly pumped anger, and although he tried to calm it, it never ceased to control him. He was who he was, and it was always hard to change. The kit glanced around the clearing. These clan cats sure've got it made, don't they? He thought slyly from his brief glance. They got piles o' food, a clean stream to swim in, and they are never looking fer a place te stay.... Hawkkit wondered if it had been that way their whole lives, or if they had to work for it. The tabby tom stepped out of the shadow of the nursery and into the clearing of the camp. He padded over to the fresh-kill pile and examined the prey carefully before chosing his own selection. He was still a bit skeptical about this whole clan thing, but he thought he'd really enjoy it.

Hazelheart padded up to the fresh-kill pile, glancing at the newest addition of Streamclan: a kit called Hawkkit. Hazelheart didn't know much about him, only that he wasn't from around here. He might have trouble earning the cat's trust. She thought, still looking at the small, but strong kit.
Hazelheart on the other hand, was clanborn. She didn't have many loyalty troubles, but she wasn't exactly the most trustworthy cat in the clan. The new warrior would not let clan rivalries affect her friends that were in different clans, she would like them as much as any of her clanmates. Which would seem a problem to many clan cats, but it wasn't a problem to Hazelheart.
The brown tabby she-cat walked up to the kit, who was probably alone and scared, without any family or friends.
"Hello." she greeted him, dipping her head. "I'm Hazelheart, a warrior of Streamclan."

Hawkkit looked up at the she-cat with his amber eyes. His heart could almost be seen through his eyes- emotionless, but considorate. "Hi." Hawkkit said in his rough voice. "I'm Hawkkit." Hawkkit sized up Hazelheart, noticing her curiosity and gentleness. "So are you from 'round these parts?" He asked in his unmistakable drawl full of content. His expression suddenly changed dramatically from one of courage to one of sorrow- this she-cat looked a bit like Sparrow. Sparrow, who'd never sing again. Sparrow, who's spirit would walk among the dead. Poor Sparrow. Poor Hawkkit.

"Yeah, I was born here." Hazelheart answered, her ears twitching. "My family is all...gone though...with Starclan now, I guess." Hazelheart stopped talking, desperate to change the topic. She hated talking about her family, it just brought too much pain and sadness.
"Anyway, do you want to go explore the forest for a while?" she asked, not wanting to talk more about families. "You've probably never seen our territory much. I could show you around, if you want."
Hazelheart smiled, she would be really happy to show the young kit around. Since, she never had an apprentice before. Hmm..maybe when Hawkkit is a 'paw, I could be his mentor! she thought, lost in her thoughts like always. I better speak to Cyanstar about this!

"That'd be good." Hawkkit accepted the she-cats offer. He needed to get to know the territory if it was going to be his new home. "Wait, what is Starclan? I ain't heard of them before." The young kit asked as they were about to begin their journey. He was rather curious about why all of these cats kept referring to a 'Starcalan'. It didn't seem to live near them.. Maybe it lives in the trees... Hawkkit thought, shooting a gaze up to the leafy branches. Those are the closest things I know to the stars that a cat can live in...

"Starclan is where clan cats go to when they die." Hazelheart explained, as she led the way into the forest. "They give messages to leaders and medicine cats, and they guide all the clans. Starclan doesn't live in the forest, since the cats of it are dead. They live in the stars...some cats say that each star in the night sky represents one of the Starclan warriors." Hazelheart paused, jumping over a fallen tree trunk. "Anyway, keep following me to the river, which marks the Blazeclan border."
Hazelheart continued leading the way, making sure not to walk too fast for the brown tabby kit. "Here it is." the tabby warrior meowed, once they arrived at the bright blue river. The river was calm and relaxing, with a few crimson fish swimming at the bottom.
"Have you ever fished before?" Hazelheart asked, leaning over to look at the small, dark red fish.

At that question, Hawkkit nodded, eyes full of faded memories. Memories of him fishing with Sparrow, desperate if food. Memories of happiness and sorrow-of swimming with his brother, and the time when he had swam alone for the first time of his life, after Sparrow had gotton killed and he had recieved a nick in his ear. The sound of the flowing water hypnotized the kit. He heard the whispers of the soft water. The whispers compelling him to leap into it... to be free, swimming away his worries. Eventually, the water won, and Hawkkit leaped in. Under the water, the tom closed his eyes. It was like being in another world- a world all his own. The water seeked in between his fur, and he felt so incredably relaxed. Finally, his need of air forced him back to the surface. He shook the water out of his eyes and looked up at Hazelheart, who was still on the surface. She probably thinks I'm crazy... Hawkkit thought. Well, too bad for her. Hawkkit shut the thoughts out of his mind and let himself be a free, floating form, gently being rocked by the current's ease.

Hazelheart leaped into the water after Hawkkit, her strong paws moving back and forth to keep up above the water. Surprisingly, Hawkkit was swimming very well for a kit, and he seemed to enjoy the water quite a bit. That's strange, not many cats other than Streamclan like to swim. Hazelheart thought, ducking her head underneath the surface. The cold water felt nice after trekking around in the forest.
After a while, Hazelheart jumped out of the water and sat on the riverbank. She quietly stepped forward, so that her paws got wet from the gently flowing river. Then, the warrior leaned over the river, her claws out, ready to strike for fish. While hunting fish, she would have to have a lot of patience. The fish didn't come up to the surface a lot.
After what felt like several moons, Hazelheart finally managed to catch one of the crimson fish, hooking it with her claw and bringing it out of the water.
"Hawkkit?" Hazelheart called out, after burying the fish so she could collect it later. "Are you read to explore more of our territory?"

Hawkkit almost didn't hear Hazelheart speak to him. His head was burried under the water, as he was in deep concentraition. The tabby kit looked around for something swimming with him. He finally found a fish whooshing by him. The kit opened his jaws and aimed to catch the prey with his mouth, but he missed as it swam right through his jaws. Mouse-dung! He thought as he searched for another fish. Before, when he had been alone with his brother, he couldn't afford to miss a catch like that. Now, he realized that he could. He searched for another quickly. Son enough, another fish came hurrying by. The kit grabbed it tightly in his jaws and managed to sink his teeth into it. He held on to it strongly before swimming back to the surface where he burried his fish next to Hazelheart's. "Sure..." Hawkkit replied before shaking the water off of his pelt. Now he knew hed like it here.

"Alright then, follow me." Hazelheart said, leading the way once again. This time the tabby warrior would go all the way across Streamclan territory to the Frostclan border. Frostclan territory was a huge forest, and the cats in it loved the cold. They were quite the opposite of Blazeclan-who loved warmth and sunshine. All of the clans in the forest were different, Nightclan was the dark, evil clan. Blazeclan loved sunshine and daylight. Frostclan loved snow and coldness, and Streamclan swam and fished in their rivers; because of the differences, the clans were always rivals. They never seemed to get along, and when they did it wouldn't last long.
If we were just one big clan, it'd be much better. Hazelheart thought, going around a bramble thicket. There wouldn't be any fights, and we'd all be together and friends...
After quite a while, Hazelhear finally made it to the Frostclan border. "This is the Frostclan border." the warrior explained, nodding towards the border. "Frostclan are weird cats, they love coldness and snow." Hazelheart paused, glancing at the kit to see if he was tired. "How about we start heading back?" she suggested, looking up at the sky. The bright, blinding sun was already setting. Had they been out exploring that long? It went by so quickly.

Hawkkit nodded sullenly. He was rather weary. "Yes, that sounds alright." He said before padding back towards the camp. "Ya wanna race?" The kit challenged the tabby warrior cunningly.
((sorry for the shortness of this- I have writers block.))

"Sure." the tabby warrior meowed, crouching down and getting ready to run. "Let's race to that tree over there." Hazelheart meowed, nodding towards the only tree in Blazeclan territory, where apprentices usually trained. "See you there!" Hazelheart said suddenly, racing forwards. Her lean muscles and long legs were sure to win against the much smaller kit, so she went slower than she would usually run, giving Hawkkit a chance to keep up. Too soon though, she reached the training tree.
ooc: It's okay, mines kinda short too D:

"Ahhhhh," Cyanstar sighed as he smelled the scents of streamclan kits... and hazelheart. What was she doing with them out here. Why would she be here. "HAZELHEART!!! I NEED TO SPEAK TO YOU NOW!" Cyanstar screamed as he looked for them. He wondered if he scared the kits. That wouldnt matter after he found out what she was doing. Especially with is kit. Where were his other kits. "I miss all of my kits together adventuring but now they fell apart. Ravenvoice is disappointed that they arent in the nursery i bet." Cyanstar whispered. He had to be careful about what he said to hazelheart or she might hate him.
