“In the depth of my soul Jayflight~ there is a wordless song.”
It was a peaceful day. The wind rustled silently in the very few trees in BlazeClan, making the brown branches dance and wave. Jayflight awoke with a yawn, and stepped outside the warriors den, stretching. Nobody looked distressed as Jayflight looked around, blinking his blue eyes. "I should go out hunting, I guess." Jayflight thought, and headed towards BlazeClan's camp entrance. -- Once finding a suitable spot, Jayflight sat down on a somewhat-grassy plain, opening his jaws to scent the air. He caught the scent of mouse and rabbit. "A rabbit must be around here somewhere..." Jayflight thought. His icy blue eyes glanced around once more, and then finally rested on it. A plump hare. Jayflight edged a little closer, then finally leaped. He missed, and the rabbit ran, but Jayflight gave chase. He matched the hare stride for stride, slowly closing in on it. Jayflight could hear the hare's frantic breathing... Closer... Closer... Miraculously, however, the hare turned sharp right, making jayflight collide into a small, dead bush. "Stupid mouse-brain..mouse-dung..rabbit!" Jayflight shouted furiously in his head. He really hoped no one saw that.

Cloverpaw stalked through the wide open space, ears pricked and senses alert. She had came out of camp for a little bit of hunting, to freshen up on her skills. She was definitely not the greatest at hunting; not even close, but that didn't get Cloverpaw's spirits down. She would always come out in Blazeclan's wide, beautiful territory, either practicing battle moves or hunting. The young apprentice was determined to become a warrior some day, no matter how long it took.
Cloverpaw pricked her ears, hearing a bush rattle in the distance. Was it an enemy warrior? Or just some prey? The apprentice narrowed her eyes, trying to follow the source of the sound. Cloverpaw was about to give up, but she then noticed Jayflight by a small bush. Maybe he made the sound?
"Hello Jayflight." Cloverpaw nodded, aware that she would get no reply back, for the warrior was mute. He was unable to talk, meow or purr.

"Hello, Jayflight." Jayflight nearly jumped out of his fur at the apprentice's voice. He whipped around, wondering who was the one who spoke. It was only Cloverpaw, an apprentice. Jayflight opened his mouth as if to speak, but then quickly shut it. Instead, he raised a paw and waved it as a greeting. "Did she see me run into that bush?" Jayflight thought nervously, and tried to keep a straight face. He pointed with a white paw at himself, then Cloverpaw, and dropped into a hunters crouch. This was his sign-language for "Do you want to hunt with me?" Hopefully Cloverpaw would catch on. She was a bright apprentice. And Jayflight was quite lonely hunting alone.

ooc: Sorry it's so short, couldn't think of what else to write. x[
"Sure, I'll hunt with you." Cloverpaw answered, hoping that was what Jayflight had meant. "Want to go hunt near the training tree?" she asked, clawing the ground impatiently with her unsheathed claws. "Maybe you could show me some hunting moves..." Cloverpaw suggested, frustrated that he couldn't speak. Was he frustrated as well, while trying to explain things? It must be so annoying. Cloverpaw thought, while waiting for a reply. It would be awful if I couldn't talk or purr!

Jayflight was happy that she got the idea of what he was trying to say. It's like his whole life was made up of charades. "Want to go hunt near the training tree?" Cloverpaw said. "Maybe you could show me some hunting moves..." Maybe Jayflight would be able to do that. But it would be difficult. "It's close enough to training an apprentice as I can probably get, actually." Jayflight thought, and smiled at Cloverpaw, nodding. Jayflight flicked his black-and-white tail in the direction of the Training tree, turned around, and jogged towards it, turning his head every once in a while to check if the young apprentice was keeping up.

Cloverpaw jogged after Jayflight towards the huge training tree, which was one of the only trees in Blazeclan territory. It's green leaves shook in the breeze, ruffling the apprentice's fur. "I only know a couple moves." Cloverpaw said once they arrived at the tree. The she-cat crouched down, and stalked forward on light, cream-coloured paws. Then she pounced, landing ungracefully in a nearby bramble thicket.
"Ow..." she hissed, while untangling herself from the sharp thicket. "That was bad!" Cloverpaw meowed, swiping her rough tongue over her pelt. "Could you show me some moves now? My mentor, Tigerstar is always busy! I hardly have any training sessions. So, I go out in the middle of the night to practice hunting or fighting. I'm a lot better at hunting though..." Cloverpaw rambled on to the silent warrior, still frustrated that he could not reply back.

Jayflight tried to laugh at what Cloverpaw did; landing oddly in a bramble thicket, but couldn't. Instead it came out as as an unnatural gurgle. "I hope she didn't hear that pathetic excuse of a purr." Jayflight thought. "...And I wish I could ask her if she was okay or not..." Jayflight watched, relieved as the apprentice carefully got out of the bramble thicket. "Could you show me some moves now?" Jayflight blinked, bewildered at the question. How could he do that? Communication would be awfully difficult between the two of them. " And yes... i can understand how busy Tigerstar is... but why would you ask someone like me?! I can't speak.. why couldn't you have asked a warrior that could? I'm no asset to the clan whatsoever..." His icy blue eyes were narrowed now, and Jayflight realized his claws were unsheathed and his tail was lashing. "Why can't I be like everyone else, StarClan?" Looking at Cloverpaw, he just nodded. " I guess I can try..."

Cloverpaw twitched her ears, sitting down to watch Jayflight. As she sat, many thoughts entered her mind. "Why did he get so mad over that little question? she asked herself, twitching her tail. When the apprentice asked if Jayflight could teach her some moves, he seemed to get really angry. The warrior unsheathed his claws, and slashed his tail, but he eventually calmed down and agreed to show Cloverpaw the battle moves. The cream-coloured apprentice watched intently, wanting to learn as many moves as she could.

Roseheart walked by while she was trying to get out on all of that fuss. What's going on over here? She thought. "Hi, guys!" she said, cheerfully. "What'cha doin'?" She thought that they were practicing. Then, she smelled prey. Rabbit, she thought. She ran up to it and caught it. "Mine now." She then decided she was kind of busy, but was still curious on to what was happening. She dropped the rabbit on the Fresh-Kill Pile and returned. "So, what'cha doin'?" she asked the both of them. "Training or something?" She was quite the curious cat, and really wanted to know.

Jayflight perked his ears to the light, yet fast moving paws of a hunting BlazeClan warrior nearby. Jayflight, forgetting about showing Cloverpaw some moves, scented the air, and tasted a light tang of Roseheart. Jayflight wasn't exactly close to the she-cat, but dipped his head to the younger she-cat in greeting as she padded towards them, a large rabbit dangling from her mouth. "What'cha doin'?" Roseheart asked. Jayflight looked at Roseheart, then dropped to the ground as if stalking prey, then abruptly stood back up. He hoped the cream she-cat would understand that they were hunting. Jayflight really couldn't understand, well, act out practicing, but he guessed it was close enough. Roseheart bounded away toward the camp, but came back a moment later. The rabbit was missing from her mouth, so Jayflight guessed that she had dropped her prey off at the fresh-kill pile. Jayflight grinned, and pointed at Roseheart, himself, and Cloverpaw, then pretended to be hunting again. "The least I can do is invite her to join us... maybe she'll help me with teaching Cloverpaw some moves..." Jayflight thought, then sat down, waiting for a reply from either she-cat.

"Hey Roseheart." Cloverpaw said happily, after Jayfeather was done acting out the answer to her question. "We're practicing hunting, Jayfeather was showing me a few moves." she explained, practically translating the blind warrior's answer. "Do you want to join us? the eager apprentice asked. Maybe Jayflight and Roseheart could be her temporary mentors, while Tigerstar was busy running the clan. The leader never had any free time, and Cloverpaw was forced to train on her own. Training new warriors an important part of clan life, but Tigerstar definitely didn't seem to care.

Once Jayflight stopped acting out, she opened her mouth to say something, but then closed it shut because Cloverpaw had stopped. "Do you want to join us?" Roseheart nodded. She'd have something to keep her mind away from all that mess. "Is Tigerstar busy or something to not train with you?" She asked, while leading them into a little hunting ground that she liked to hunt in. Her cream-brown colored pelt stood out, and prey could see her easily, but she is faster than regular BlazeClan cats. "Battle training, or hunting?"
